What Makes Stowe Community Church Special?

We offer a beautiful sanctuary, extraordinary and historic Simmons Tracker organ, and a talented team that includes a wedding minister, professional organist and/or pianist, and other staff who will work with you to create a joyful and memorable ceremony.

If you’ve already chosen an officiant or other musicians, we will work with you to coordinate the other details of your ceremony.

  • First, call the church office to make sure your desired date is available. Then, email Pastor Daniel Haugh at dan@stowechurch.org to make sure he’s available too. Your date won’t be official until it has been entered into both calendars.

  • The wedding ceremony can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on how elaborate you choose it to be.  We welcome special music, prayers or cultural additions to the basic service that make the ceremony especially meaningful.

  • Absolutely! Your wedding planner should coordinate everyone’s arrival and readiness.  Pastor Dan will then conduct the rehearsal itself. Once all members of the wedding party have arrived, the rehearsal should take 30-60 minutes to complete.

  • Yes. All planners, florists and decorators must work within our guidelines for embellishments and candles. Everything must be removed by hired professionals, or the family, immediately following the ceremony.

  • They can set their equipment up anywhere in the sanctuary, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the line of sight of the guests, or impede the wedding party.

  • No. We do not allow rice, confetti, birdseed, or any similar items, so please be sure to inform your guests! If any of these items are used, you will incur a $500 clean-up fee.

  • Absolutely! Pastor Dan Haugh will guide your planning process, but you’re welcome to include others.
