We would like to introduce you to our Administrative Assistant, Marylou Durett! She is such a special part of our church and is one of the many people who keep us running smoothly. We asked her to share a little bit about herself:
“My husband and I grew up in Stowe and at the Stowe Community Church. We went to Sunday School and attended youth group here. I sang in Junior Choir and later Senior Choir. We love Stowe. We have 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
When the Administrative Assistant job became available, I applied and prayed for this opportunity. I retired from my work in Colchester with State Farm Insurance claim office after 34 years. I came back home!
I love what I do, helping people and working with everyone here. This is an inspiration to connect with the community. I feel my experience here has enriched my life. Hope I encourage people to experience these wonderful, uplifting moments of being in the church, especially during services.
In my spare time I enjoy singing with Voices For All Seasons, directed by Judith St. Aubin of Morrisville and living on Lake Eden year round, swimming, boating and most important, spending memorable moments with our family and friends.
Lizi Lyon is our Wedding Coordinator. Lizi was born and raised in Hyde Park, Vermont. After high school, she attended Johnson State College and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing and a Master’s degree in Education. In 2010, Lizi married her high school sweetheart Casey, in the Stowe Community Church! Today, they reside in Wolcott with their two daughters Marina and Mabel. Lizi loves spending time outside and going on adventures with her family.
Taryn Noelle is so delighted and honored to serve the Stowe Community Church as the Director of Children’s Ministries. She is originally from Toronto, Canada, and splits her time residing in both Craftsbury and the charming and beautiful town of Stowe. Other than leading youth Worship here at SCC, Taryn works throughout northern and central Vermont as a stage director, choreographer, actor and vocalist. Taryn has grown to immeasurably value her Stowe Community Church family, and feels incredibly privileged for the opportunity and continued opportunities of faith, fellowship and outreach that the Church both represents and continually demonstrates. Under Pastor Dan’s new leadership and guidance, Taryn feels so hopeful and inspired about what new families can look forward to in paying us a visit, whether that be for a Sunday, a year or a lifetime.
