We would like to introduce you to our Administrative Assistant, Marylou Durett! She is such a special part of our church and is one of the many people who keep us running smoothly. We asked her to share a little bit about herself:
“My husband and I grew up in Stowe and at the Stowe Community Church. We went to Sunday School and attended youth group here. I sang in Junior Choir and later Senior Choir. We love Stowe. We have 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
When the Administrative Assistant job became available, I applied and prayed for this opportunity. I retired from my work in Colchester with State Farm Insurance claim office after 34 years. I came back home!
I love what I do, helping people and working with everyone here. This is an inspiration to connect with the community. I feel my experience here has enriched my life. Hope I encourage people to experience these wonderful, uplifting moments of being in the church, especially during services.
In my spare time I enjoy singing with Voices For All Seasons, directed by Judith St. Aubin of Morrisville and living on Lake Eden year round, swimming, boating and most important, spending memorable moments with our family and friends.

Born and Raised in Stowe, Chris Vigneau grew up as an Episcopalian member of St. John’s in the Mountains.
Despite this, he has maintained very strong lifelong ties to the Stowe Community Church and its community.
In his formative years, music became an integral piece of his being. Beginning with the trumpet in 4 th grade, Chris soon followed with piano; again, shortly followed by a decision to learn the harp. Though he left his trumpet at home, he continued playing the piano and harp throughout college.
Chris attended Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, graduating with a double major in piano and business administration. After graduation, Chris moved to Bridgton, Maine where he was hired as the Sports Information Director, Bus Driver & Photographer for Bridgton Academy.
Chris returned to his roots one year later, in 2013, to pick up the reins of his family business, the Round Hearth at Stowe. Shortly after moving home, he was hired as the organist at the Blessed Sacrament Church. Again, shortly after this, he began playing piano in the lounge at the Trapp Family Lodge; both positions he gladly holds to this day. Chris also spent a few years as a part-time school bus driver for Percy Transportation, the treasurer for Stowe Vibrancy; as the pianist for the Sunday afternoon
contemporary service at the Stowe Community Church.
Chris married his wife, Whitney, in September of 2019. They have spent their married time during
COVID raising two beautiful boys – Merrick and Carter, in addition to their continued work at the RoundHearth. He is incredibly excited to be working, alongside his wife, with the youth at the Stowe Community Church; to help them form positive memories of their time in Stowe and in our churchcommunity.

Born in Sacramento, Whitney Vigneau spent her first few years in California before moving to Vermont. Adopted at
ten years old by Marilyn and David Carter, she spent the better part of her upbringing with her brother Marcos, roaming the hills at the end of a former cow path in Wolcott, Vermont
These years, for Whit, were spent fully immersed in athletics, Christianity, music and family. She is an avid soccer aficionado, having played and coached with great success throughout her high school career and after. She is also a dogged participant in all winter sports except, oddly, ice skating.
Whit attended the Wolcott Church of the Nazarene where she acted as a worship leader, bringing her passion for Christ and worship through her time singing with the band. Whit was also a youth and  teen counselor for many years at the Ithiel Falls Bible Camp in Johnson.
Whit met her future husband, Chris, in 2017. Shortly after their first date, the two met with both the pastor and Taryn Noelle to set up the original contemporary service; one which she helped to leadmusically for a number of years. Whit was finally baptized at the Stowe Community Church in 2019.
Shortly after this, and in quick procession, she became an official member of the church and was married to Chris in our beloved sanctuary.
Whit’s passion for youth and the development of has driven her to accept a calling from the Stowe Community Church to become, along with her husband Chris, co-Director of Youth Ministries.
