Leader: We wait with hope for justice and righteousness of God.

All: We wait with peace for God’s shalom to fill the world.

Leader: We wait with joy, celebrating all that God has done for us and our world.

All: We wait with love, humbled by the love that God shows to all people.

Leader: Tonight we light this candle to celebrate the energy that God has sent into the world through the love and life of Jesus.

Unison Prayer                                                         The Percy Family

O God of hope, and peace, and joy, and love, from that stable so long ago your light shines into every corner of the world. Help us to sing with the angels at the joy of your coming. Help us to live by your light not only today, but throughout the whole year, so that tidings of peace and good will to all will truly renew the whole creation.

Announcements

We encourage the use of masks for anyone feeling unwell or for those who would prefer to have a mask on. As a congregation, we respect those who chose to wear a mask out of personal concern/safety.

We will continue to live stream our services through our website  www.stowecommunitychurch.org.

Our church experienced tremendous growth in 2022!   To fund this growth SCC had to dip into our rainy-day resources in order to meet our needs.  We ask that you prayerfully consider making a one-time end-of-year gift to enable us to finish 2022 strong and begin 2023 with our resources intact. Place your donations in the offering plate, visit our website or scan the QR code that is in the bulletin.

Beverages are allowed in the sanctuary however, please do not put your cup on the hymnals, bibles, or pew cushions.  Place them on the floor by your feet.

If you, or someone you know, would like prayers for comfort or healing, the members of the Prayer Team are ready to support you. Please fill out the prayer request form in the bulletin and put it in the offering plate or hand it to an usher to deliver to the office.

There will be a Christmas Day service here at 9:30 am.  Please join us.

The staff of Stowe Community Church wishes you and your family a peaceful and joyous Christmas!

Reflections:

Christmas waves of magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.  Norman Vincent Peale

The earth has grown old with its burden of care, but at Christmas it always is young, the heart of the jewel burns lustrous and fair, and its soul full of music breaks the air, when the song of angels is sung. Phillips Brooks (songwriter of “O Little Town of Bethlehem”)
